From All-American to Academy Director
Two decades of competitive golf, coaching excellence, and athletic development -- all focused on building the complete golfer.
Jason Vaughn, PGA is the owner and Director of Instruction at Vaughn Golf Academy in Florence, Alabama. A former University of North Alabama All-American, he was named UNA Male Student-Athlete of the Year in 2002 and inducted into the UNA Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
Jason holds a Bachelor's in Fitness Management and a Master's in Exercise Science from UNA, and is a graduate of the PGA of America Management Program. This unique combination of competitive playing experience and sports science expertise sets his coaching apart from traditional golf instruction.
He spent 7 years as an assistant and head professional at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals before becoming Head Golf Coach at UNA (2013-2017). Under his leadership the Lions made three NCAA National Championship appearances, finished 9th nationally in 2014 and 8th in 2017, produced four All-Americans, and won dozens of collegiate events.
Today Jason teaches outdoors at Blackberry Trail Golf Course and indoors at Teed Up using professional-grade FlightScope, BodiTrak, and OnForm technology for comprehensive swing and movement analysis.
